Operation

The Dual Port isolated USB Charger has two ports. Apple devices should be connected to the port 'Universal & Apple', all other devices can be connected to either one of them.
Note: You can plug in multiple devices to the Dual Port isolated USB Charger, as long as the maximum power consumption of all plugged-in devices does not exceed 3A. Exceeding this limit will result in slow or no charging.
CAUTION: Before inserting a connector, remove the protective cover. If the connections are not used, always put or keep the protective covers in.
CAUTION:

The device is tested at full load (3Amp) at an ambient temperature of 25°C. When the ambient temperature is higher it is possible the device will enter a ‘thermal shutdown’ at full load. In thermal shutdown the ‘green LED’ might dim to show the output is not at full power (depends on the type of load). In case of a ‘thermal shutdown’ remove the device being charged, let de USB Charger cool down (15minutes or longer) and reconnect.

Integrated safety

There is no danger to connecting a device to a wrong USB port. Integrated safety circuits will prevent the device to be overcharged. It is possible that the device will not charge, or will charge slowly. In that case, insert the device loading cable into the other USB port.

(Not) continuously powered

A green LED on the unit indicates when the unit is powered. The USB Charger can function in two different ways:
  • Only powered when the wheelchair electronics are switched on (default setting)
  • Continuously powered: power chair powered on or powered off makes no difference. The charger is always powered and the indicator LED is always on.
CAUTION: There is continuous battery consumption.
Note: For continuous mode, open up the housing of the charger and position the jumper over the two pins of the 2-pin header and the charger will work continuously.
